|In the early days, people traveled by stagecoach, wagon and on water. Then, the railroad arrived in Monroe County in 1856, and a new era of transportation began, changing the landscape and opening opportunities. The first train to come was the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western line, which traveled from Scranton to New York.
This beautiful three bedroom lakefront Pocono vacation rental home is located on a winding country road in the Hideout, a four-star resort community in the Lake region of the Pocono Mountains that offers serenity, privacy, gated community access, and a myriad of activities and attractions in this premier vacation rental area. The spacious layout and many amenities of this vacation house make it the perfect location for your next family vacation, romantic couples’ getaway in the Pocono Mountains, family reunion, or lodging for high school and college reunions in the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, East Stroudsburg, and PA areas. Enjoy swimming, fishing, or simply lounging around by the lake, one of six, right in your own backyard, or play a few rounds of golf on our private Pocono Mountains course. The peaceful surroundings of this Pocono retreat belie the many activities and attractions you’ll find locally.
This spacious vacation home boasts three bedrooms with scenic views of the Poconos foliage and two bathrooms, as well as a fully equipped country kitchen, den, living room, and two fireplaces. From the living room, which features a wet bar, you can go out to the deck or screened porch, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain foliage as well as spectacular views of the lake. After a full day of taking in all the Poconos have to offer, grill up a barbecue dinner on the deck from one of the many local farm merchants, enjoy a romantic meal in front of one of the large fireplaces, or eat out at one of the many local gourmet restaurants. Finish off the evening with stargazing from the private dock overlooking the lake and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and that fresh country air.
All our guests have access to all the amenities the Hideout has to offer, including our own private golf course, six lakes, pools, beaches, downhill skiing and showboarding with equipment rentals, cross country skiing, ski lodge, parks, playgrounds, indoor and outdoor tennis, fishing, boating, hiking, indoor and outdoor basketball, softball, bocci, shuffleboard, horseshoes, sledding, ice skating, miniature golf, handball, beach volleyball, a pavilion, campgrounds for tents and RV camping, rowboats and paddleboats, swim lessons, lessons with the golf pro, clubhouse, game room, gourmet restaurant, pub, arts and crafts center, lending library, woodworker’s shop, gym, and a fitness center.
We’re ten minutes from Lake Wallenpaupack, where you can rent jet-skis, powerboats, and other types of watercraft, five minutes from a zoo, driving range, paintball, horseback riding, antique shops, and nature areas , including state game lands. We’re only one-half hour from several major ski areas, including Montage Mountain, Elk Mountain, Shawnee, Big Bear, and Tanglewood, where you can go skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing, museums, cultural centers, theaters, cinemas, golf courses, water parks, malls, white-water rafting, outlet shopping, and historic sight-seeing tours. And it’s only five minutes to the best ribs anywhere. We offer discount coupons to these and many other special local activities and events, as well as provide event guides for local Poconos happenings.
The first railroad depot was built that same year in Dansbury Manor (now called East Stroudsburg). The railroad led to the creation of new villages and hospitality businesses. Furthermore, it connected Monroe County with large urban centers, increasing market opportunities for big Pocono crops, such as ice.
