The majestic Stone Lion, built in the early 1800's,
is a truly magnificent historical dwelling. The stately home sits high
on almost two acres. Looking out the front windows, you'll marvel at
the extraordinary views -- a tranquil farm pond across the road, colossal
trees and the gorgeous Pocono Mountains. The owners just recently completed the renovation of
the Stone Lion with a commitment to preserving the gorgeous hardwood
floors and structural backbone. The lower level of the home is dedicated
to the social activities - cooking, eating, dining, dancing, conversing.
The spacious kitchen has been remodeled with rich granite counters,
all new appliances and attractive flooring. Yet the focal points of
the room are the original bead board ceiling and floor-to-ceiling pantry
cabinets. The first floor has three additional rooms which can
be used for dining, dancing, TV watching, book reading, or whatever
you want for your gathering. There are multiple fireplaces throughout
the Stone House which contribute to the historical ambiance. On the
first floor there's a new half bath for your convenience. Go up the original staircase to the second floor where
you'll find an alluring sitting area with a chaise lounge overlooking
vast rolling hills. This floor features four charming bedrooms and a
full newly remodeled bathroom. Each bedroom is attractively decorated
with a different theme, from a patriotic motif to early 19th century.
The home comfortably sleeps nine. There are queen-sized beds in three
of the bedrooms; the fourth bedroom has a full-sized bed and a twin.
